WHAT IS SIXTH FORM (AS / AL)?
The sixth form is a label used to describe the two years of education for students aged 16-18, or at Key stage 5
The AWS Sixth Form is a culmination of a 13-year educational journey, during which we prepare our students for their on-going lasting educational journey. The Sixth Form seeks to develop transferable independent learning skills which distinguish our students. We focus on rigour, discipline and self-reliance.
We strive to develop local and global leaders who are reliable citizens. We strive to focus on a broad range of extra-curricular activities. The AWS program is designed to develop team spirit and leadership. We aspire to have graduates who have an understanding of the importance of playing a full part in the local and wider community.
AWS is offering electives from Year 12 onwards for this academic year 2018/2019. Please note that once the choice is made, students will remain in that stream until the end of Year 13. At that point, students may sit for AS/AL external exams and can choose up to 3 subjects.
Parents are free to come and discuss with our academic counsellor any questions they may have about the Year 12 options with prior appointment.
